A new era has begun for Ghana’s entertainment and events industry with the official launch of HypecraftGH Association, an initiative founded by renowned event host OgeeTheMC.

The launch took place during the maiden edition of the MCs Workshop held at the British Council Auditorium in Accra over the weekend. The establishment of the Association marks a historic step toward uniting and empowering Masters of Ceremony (MCs) and hypemen — two of the most vital yet often overlooked pillars of the entertainment ecosystem.

    Purpose and vision

The HypecraftGH Association has been formed to provide structure, advocacy, and professional development opportunities for individuals working within the space. Its core objectives include promoting industry standards, ensuring fair representation and welfare, and offering continuous mentorship and training to both established and upcoming hosts.

In his speech at the launch, OgeeTheMC emphasized that the Association’s creation stemmed from years of observation and interaction with practitioners who lacked a recognized body to represent their interests.

“For years, MCs and hypemen have carried the energy of every event — from concerts and festivals to corporate functions and weddings — yet we have had no structure to protect or develop our craft,” he said. “This Association is not just about recognition; it’s about building a professional identity and community that will benefit generations to come.”

He further explained that the Association would serve as a hub for skill development, facilitating workshops, certification programs, and networking events that connect practitioners with brands, event organizers, and stakeholders.

Endorsements and support from industry leaders

The launch attracted a cross-section of Ghana’s entertainment heavyweights who graced the occasion in support of the new initiative.

Among them were Andy Dosty, seasoned DJ/ Presenter, Angel Town (Manager of Sarkodie), Kidi, Joey B, Kevoy B — a renowned Jamaican host, MC Kabutey, a respected Ghanaian MC with years of experience, and Jonathan Amable ESQ., a legal practitioner who spoke on contracts and intellectual property.

Their presence, coupled with their earlier presentations at the MCs Workshop, underscored the importance of mentorship and structure in Ghana’s entertainment landscape.

    Special guests and cultural highlights

Notable guests such as Dr Louisa Satekla, wife of global music icon Stonebwoy, and Vida Adutwumwaa, Public Relations Officer for Burniton Music Group and Entertainment Pundit and MC Yaa Yeboah were also in attendance, signifying strong support from key industry stakeholders.

    A united front for growth

The launch concluded with an official unveiling of the Association’s vision and progress for Ghana’s hosting community. Attendees applauded the move as a long-overdue recognition of the vital role MCs and hypemen play in shaping experiences across both entertainment and corporate platforms.

OgeeTheMC reiterated his commitment to developing the next generation of hosts through structured mentorship and collaboration.

“We are building something that will last — a body that stands for fairness, professionalism, and excellence,” he said. “Our goal is simple: to redefine hosting in Ghana and elevate it to global standards.”

    Looking Ahead

The newly formed HypecraftGH Association is expected to roll out its membership structure, training programs, and inaugural national conference in the coming months.

The Association has already received pledges of partnership from key media and event organizations interested in supporting its long-term vision and still calling on corporate Ghana for more support.

As the microphones were lowered and the lights dimmed at the British Council, one message rang clear — the Ghanaian MC and hypeman now have a home, a voice, and a future firmly grounded in unity and professionalism.
