A man has shared a piece of marriage advice his father gave him that left him speechless.

He had called his father one evening to ask why he had never asked him the Nigerian parent question: “When are you getting married?”

The father smiled and paused, then told him that although he is financially stable, marriage is a different ball game entirely.

“I have been married to your mother for over 30 years.

I have seen the ups and downs and honestly,

I will not advise anybody to rush into it”

He adds that he knows how difficult it is to find a good woman, referencing that there are many women out their but only few are ready to be wives.

To answer his question, the father tells him that the reason he has not asked him that question is so he is not pressured into making the wrong choice.

    “I know you are responsible

and I trust that you are already making plans towards that,

so there is no need for me to ask

    Take your time, vet ruthlessly,

and when you find her I will be here to give you my blessings”

The man confesses that his father’s words left him speechless.

The story was shared on X by @GloriousGod01

@blaq_wn_belle God bless your dad. The marriage game isn’t an easy one.
You have to be mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually ready. And even when you’re ready, it will still test you.

@BlaqShild50 Guys are hardly pressured to get married.
