Ghanaian media personality Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has vowed to follow up with the court case involving Archbishop Salifu Amoako’s son to its conclusion.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV, Arnold emphasized that the case will not be forgotten or overlooked, given the gravity of the harm it has caused and the public interest it has generated.

“It will not be one of those cases we forget about after a while,” he stated.

He drew parallels to a similar case in the United States, where an underage boy fatally shot his classmates.

In that instance, the boy’s parents were prosecuted and sentenced to 10 years each, with the judge highlighting that the sentence served as a deterrent, reflecting the parents’ failure to prevent the attack despite having multiple opportunities to do so.

“The judge emphasised that the sentence should act as a deterrent, as the parents failed to stop the attack even though they had the chance,” he explained.

Arnold also noted that Salifu Amoako’s son had been seen driving dangerously multiple times, yet his parents took no action.

He reiterated that, like the US case, this situation also reflects a neglect of parental duties.

“One set of parents is actively caring for their children, while another set is not taking parenting seriously,” he added.

He assured Ghanaians that there would be no compromises, and the case would be closely monitored until its resolution.

“If people think this case would be swept under the rug, they are joking. We will follow the court case until its final stages. No compromising,” he affirmed.

    What happened?

The incident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako lost control of a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20) and collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23).

The crash caused both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, who were in the Acura, burned beyond recognition.

Following the accident, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested on October 15 and later granted bail of ¢50,000 each.

Meanwhile, victims Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh have been laid to rest.
