Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central and entertainment personality, Kwame A Plus, has stated that MPs do a lot of work that doesn’t correspond with the salary they earn.

In an interview with Adom FM on April 3, 2025, A Plus revealed that after deductions, he takes home less than GH¢ 15,000 as an MP.

Drawing a comparison to his life before joining Parliament, A Plus emphasised that in 2020, he used to earn more in a single day than his current monthly salary.

“Parliament work is difficult, and the salary is so small. It’s not good at all. After all the deductions, you’d be left with about just GH¢ 15,0000. One of these days I am going to make my bank statements public.

“When I look at my turnover for 2020, it shows that I was making a lot of money. I was making more money in just 24 hours back then… and I’m even talking about my savings. The amount of money I was making in a day at that time is more than the salary I’m receiving now,” he stated.

He then commended the MPs for working hard while making things look easy, noting that he used to see things differently before he joined Parliament.

“The MPs are doing very well. Before we joined Parliament, we used to see things differently,” he stated.

His statements have since received massive backlash and raised questions on social media.

While some netizens have labelled him as greedy, others are questioning why he contested the election if he was aware of the salaries MPs earn in the country.
