Media personality, Adwoa Asuama (GH Mouthpiece)

Media personality, Adwoa Asuama, popularly known as GH Mouthpiece, has detailed some ordeals she went through in a church she once attended.

In an interview on Accra FM, on January 23, 2025, GH Mouthpiece noted that there is no benefit in going to church, and that some churches in the country are only there to make business.

“I don’t see the need in going to church. There is no benefit in going to church because the church building is you; the human being… When God says you are the building, it doesn’t mean a structure where people go and pray. Lately, a lot of churches in the country are where people go and trade. If you go to some churches, that is where people will be selling anointing oils, stickers, and many others, and it looks like a market,” she said.

GH Mouthpiece further shared her experience of how she was denied by a church she once attended because of her financial status.

“I stopped going to church because of an experience I had. I went to a church and if I had not stopped, I would have become a sinner. Could you imagine I was rejected in a church because I didn’t have money? I was punished for something I didn’t do. After that, I promised not to go to church again. I was living in pain, instead of harmony.

“During a wedding ceremony, I worked as an usher and someone misplaced her belongings. I was mishandled because I was blamed. I cried and up to now when I am talking about it. There is also favouritism in these so-called churches,” she said.
