    Moroccan superstar Achraf Hakimi and Nigerian star Ademola Lookman have been named in the final shortlist for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year.

    The duo will compete against three other players, including Ivory Coast forward Simon Adingra, Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy, and South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

    All five players had an outstanding year for their respective clubs and countries and will aim to claim the prestigious award.

    CAF, during the announcement on Thursday, December 12, also revealed the final shortlist for the Women’s Player of the Year.

    Unlike the Men’s category, the Women’s shortlist features three players: Zambian forward Barbra Banda, Moroccan forward Sanna Mssoudy, and Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

    The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 16, 2024.

    Men’s Player of the Year:

    Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire / Brighton & Hove Albion)

    Serhou Guirassy (Guinea / Borussia Dortmund)

    Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / PSG)

    Ademola Lookman (Nigeria / Atalanta)

    Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns)

    Women’s Player of the Year:

    Barbra Banda (Zambia / Orlando Pride)

    Sanna Mssoudy (Morocco / AS FAR)

    Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria / Paris FC)
