Ghanaian photographers, Twinsdontbeg have declared that they will use their photography skills to help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win the December 7, 2024 elections.

They made this announcement during an appearance on JoyPrime where they narrated their journey to fame, which owes credit to the NPP.

The duo’s interest in politics began during their time at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where they supported Henry Nana Boakye, the current NPP Organiser, in his campaign for Student Representative Council (SRC) President.

Although Boakye did not win, Twinsdontbeg remained active in politics and built a network of influential connections.

One of their key connections is Fatimatu Abubakar, now the Minister for Information.

“Our commitment to entertainment, fashion, politics, and showbiz has brought us to where we are today. We met Fati Abubakar at university, and after we started photography, she introduced us to H.E. Samira Bawumia,” they explained.

Twinsdontbeg explained what they termed ‘strategic photography’ in political campaigns, noting how the communication team of Kenya’s First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, used Samira Bawumia’s social media engagement and images to aid their election victory.

“When the Kenyan First Lady, Mama Ruto won the elections. Her communication team were directed to use Samira Bawumia’s social media and images as a way to also promote her. So we were in Nairobi for a climate conference and I was sitting with her team.

“And they didn’t know I was the one behind the images. So they were just saying that, after they won the elections, they used Samira Bawumia’s branding and images as a way to also learn and use it for the First Lady of Kenya,” they shared.

Confident in their strategy, Twinsdontbeg declared, “We are going to use photography to win the next elections for NPP.”
