Ghanaian actor John Peasah, well-known as Drogba from the hit series YOLO, is centering his life around healing and spiritual strength as he continues his recovery from a rare neurological illness.

In an Instagram story shared on June 16, 2025, the actor updated fans on his health journey, revealing that he is gradually regaining strength after a prolonged battle with multiple diagnoses.

“I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made by God. The physical discomfort was overwhelming at times, but the spiritual solace I found was profound,” he shared.

Drogba’s diagnosis in March 2024 included a demyelinating disease, a condition that affects the nervous system, along with Sleep Apnea, a disorder that disrupts breathing during sleep, and the rare Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder. He was placed on a CPAP machine to manage his breathing difficulties and began intensive treatment.

The actor reflected on a pivotal moment in his healing journey, a spiritual encounter during an all-night church service in 2024 that brought him significant relief.

Despite this personal breakthrough, Drogba disclosed that some media platforms distorted his words, leading to negative and insensitive commentary online.

“Who likes to trend and is in pain? I’d rather not dwell on the negativity. Instead, I’m focusing on my journey towards healing and wholeness, both physically and spiritually,” he stated, choosing grace and resilience over public criticism.

Drogba reaffirmed his determination to move forward and embrace each step of his recovery with gratitude and faith, placing less focus on the noise and more on the strength he’s rediscovering.
