Oboy Siki (L) offered an unqualified apology to Yaw Dabo (R) after their first court appearance
Kumawood actors Yaw Dabo and Oboy Siki, popularly known as Dada Santo, have reportedly resolved their defamation dispute outside the courtroom.
Yaw Dabo initiated legal action against Oboy Siki after accusing him of making defamatory comments about him. But less than 48 hours after their first court appearance, Dabo agreed to discontinue the case following the intervention of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene.
In a video that surfaced after a meeting with the minister, both actors confirmed they would no longer pursue the matter in court.
Oboy Siki withdrew his defamatory statements and offered an unqualified apology to Dabo for any inconvenience caused.
He admitted the claims were made in an attempt to spark social media banter, adding that since Dabo did not welcome it, he had decided to retract everything.

“I have already apologised to Dabo before Frank [Dr Amoakohene], but let me state it here that all I said was not true and was said out of anger,” Oboy Siki told the media.
After speaking to bloggers, Oboy Siki walked up to Dabo, shook his hand, and asked him publicly to confirm that he had forgiven him.
Dabo affirmed that he had accepted the apology, noting that the issue had been settled through the intervention of the regional minister and other prominent individuals who had reached out to him.
Background
The controversy began after Oboy Siki, during an interview with Ghpage, allegedly made disparaging remarks about Dabo’s involvement in football management and his private life, including claims that he was struggling with infertility.
He also alleged that Dabo had insulted President John Dramani Mahama.
Feeling his reputation had been damaged, Dabo filed a defamation suit against Oboy Siki, seeking GH₵1 million in damages.
On February 23, 2026, the two actors appeared before the High Court in Kumasi for the first time. Videos that circulated online showed them at the court premises alongside some Kumawood colleagues, including Sumsum Ahuofe, as proceedings took place.
It was later disclosed that the court had adjourned the case to allow both parties the opportunity to explore an out-of-court settlement, which has now been reached.
