Popular Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere has shared her perspective on the importance of giving meaningful gifts, especially during occasions like Valentine’s Day.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM on February 13, 2025, Serwaa reacted to instances where women buy underwear for their partners.

According to her, there is value in exchanging proper gifts rather than settling for less.

“You give something good to receive something good. If you buy a man boxer shorts, he will buy panties for you. I think women should give proper gifts. That has always been my mantra,” she stated.

Serwaa explained that it is important to practice reciprocity and generosity in relationships, urging individuals to improve the quality of their gifts when they have the means to do so.

“It’s okay if that’s the level you can afford, but when you have enough money, you have to step up your gifting game. You can’t always be receiving all the time,” she added.

Beyond romantic relationships, Serwaa Amihere disclosed that she practices the same principle with her female friends.

“I believe in giving and gifting my friends. There are people who always get things from men, but I’m not like that. I get things for my female friends, and we buy proper gifts for each other,” she added.
