Kelvin Brown popularly known as Kelvynboy

Former signee of Burniton Music Group and protégé of Stonebwoy, Kelvynboy, was completely devastated after his label boss parted ways with him in 2019, according to his manager, Diddy.

Speaking on ‘No Filter Podcast’ which aired on January 17, 2026, Diddy said when the incident happened in 2019, it felt as though all hope was gone for the artiste because the BHIM Nation boss did not give any reason for the split.

Diddy explained that the first sign of tension came when Stonebwoy unfollowed Kelvynboy on social media, followed by online reports that he would no longer work with him.

“When it happened, to be honest, we were broken. The artiste was shaking, completely lost, as all hope seemed gone, and none of us knew what had happened. There was no closure, he “didn’t explain the reason for the breakup to anyone. It just came out one time he had unfollowed Kelvynboy on social media and from there we saw publications online that he wouldn’t work with him again,” Diddy said.

He added that from 2019 until now, neither Kelvynboy, nor Blakk Cedi, who was Stonebwoy’s manager at the time, knows why the BHIM Nation boss decided to part ways with his protégé.

“I don’t know what happened, Kelvin doesn’t know what happened, and even Blakk Cedi doesn’t know what happened till date. There’s been instances we have met at Ashaiman to reconcile, to try and make peace,” he noted.

Diddy further mentioned that one of the biggest challenges Kelvynboy faced after the split was the shift in public sentiment.

“One challenge we faced was that when we broke away, there was massive love for the brand we were leaving, which led to huge hatred toward us. That really worried us and took a big toll on him,” he added.

Back in September 2019, Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy confirmed that Kelvynboy was no longer signed to Burniton Music Group.

The announcement was made in a statement released on September 24, 2019, which disclosed that the label had parted ways with the Afrobeats artiste after an audit.

Burniton Music Group stated that it had signed Kelvynboy to a one-year contract in January 2018 with an option to extend for four years.

Although the contract expired on January 21, 2019, the label continued to work with him under the terms of the old agreement.

However, the decision to release Kelvynboy was made after the audit and due to conduct issues during the period the contract was active.
