Medeama SC defender Yussif Mubarik has expressed gratitude and pride following the club’s successful 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title-winning campaign.

The Mauve and Yellows were officially crowned champions after a dominant 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions at the TnA Stadium on Sunday, securing the title with one game remaining.

Medeama’s title-winning performance against the Giant Killers saw Kelvin Obeng and Derrick Fordjour score braces, while Prince Owusu added another goal to complete the emphatic victory in Tarkwa.

Speaking after the triumph, Mubarik thanked Almighty Allah for guiding the team throughout the difficult season.

“First of all, I will give thanks to Almighty Allah for bringing us through this competition, and we are the winners of the competition. I will thank Allah for that,” Mubarik said.

The experienced defender also revealed that the team had confidence from the beginning of the campaign that they could go all the way and win the league title.

“For me as a player, the season was very tough. If you look at where we started from, as the same coach told us, Abidjan, we did a lot of work there. So coming into the season, we knew we were going to win the league,” he added.

“We did a lot of work there, which gave us more hope of winning the cup.”

The triumph marks Medeama SC’s second Ghana Premier League title in four seasons and further cements the club’s growing dominance in Ghanaian football.

Following their latest success, the Tarkwa-based side will now represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Champions League.
