Forward for Athletic Club, Iñaki Williams, has assessed his team’s chances of winning the Spanish league in the 2024/25 season. Athletic Club’s 2-0 win over Villarreal on Sunday, December 8, 2024, now places Bilbao fourth in the league, six points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
Asked if there is a chance of the team going for the La Liga title after the game, the Ghanaian acknowledged how big a challenge it could be but remained optimistic, emphasizing that they cannot give up yet on the title.
“We mustn’t throw in the towel on anything. We must be ambitious. It’s a big deal, but why not?” he quizzed.
The forward was thrilled after marking his tenth anniversary at Athletic Club with his fourth La Liga goal of the season against Villarreal. He promised fans to expect more from both the club and himself as they prepare to travel to Turkey to face Fenerbahçe in the Europa League.
“Hello, people! Really happy with today’s win. Now we head to Turkey; a lot more to come. Up Athletic!” he said.
The win means Athletic Club are yet to taste defeat since November 2024 and are now on a winning streak with five consecutive victories, including a win against the reigning champions, Real Madrid.
