Ernestina Fosu, elder sister of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, and the family head, Kofi Owusu, have arrived at the Manhyia Palace to resolve their feud.
The two appeared before Otumfuo’s Saamanhene, Nana Buabasa, after tensions between them escalated over the funeral arrangements for the late musician.
Their appearance follows an incident in which Ernestina invoked the “Otumfuo Ntam Kese”, a traditional oath, against the Abusuapanin at the premises of the Kumasi High Court on October 31, 2025.
Tepamanhene clears air on Daddy Lumba’s funeral amid Otumfuo’s great oath proceedings
According to reports, the disagreement stems from how the family head has handled matters surrounding Lumba’s death, funeral planning, and communication with relatives.
Ernestina Fosu accused Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu of making decisions without involving her and other close family members.
She has also questioned the circumstances of her brother’s passing, insisting that the family provide proof of the cause of death before the funeral proceeds.
In an interview on UTV, Tepamanhene, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem II, disclosed that the late Daddy Lumba’s funeral cannot proceed on December 6, 2025, as previously announced, until the family meets with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He stated that the final burial rites of the late musician can only take place after a customary hearing regarding Ernestina Fosu’s invocation of Otumfuo’s Great Oath (Ntam Kese).
Ghana lost one of its most cherished musical legends, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
