Chaos erupted among fans of Hohoe United after referee Juliet Appiah awarded a penalty to Attram De Visser during their clash at the Tuba Astro Turf on Friday, April 11, 2025.
The Hohoe-based club currently sits at the top of the Division One Zone Three table and was hoping to secure all three points to strengthen its grip on first place. However, a determined Attram De Visser side ended Hohoe United’s six-game unbeaten run, handing them a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a penalty.
Thirteen minutes into the second half, referee Juliet Appiah awarded a penalty to Attram De Visser after Hohoe United goalkeeper Amissah brought down an Attram De Visser forward in the box.
The decision didn’t sit well with the away fans, who immediately voiced their anger, creating a heated atmosphere as tempers flared in the stands.
Police officers were called into action to calm tensions as angry Hohoe United fans expressed their displeasure over the penalty decision, with some supporters even seen shoving each other in the heat of the moment.
Despite the chaos off the pitch, Attram De Visser held their nerve on it, securing all three vital points and climbing into the top half of the Division One Zone Three standings.
Immediately after the game, tensions flared once again between fans of both teams, leading to another heated exchange. Police quickly intervened, stepping in to restore order as the situation escalated. Supporters were seen chasing each other, with some attempting to escalate the conflict further.
Action in the division continues over the weekend, with Okwawu United set to host struggling Inter Allies in one of the standout fixtures on Saturday and Sunday.
