A young man who followed prominent public figure, Kwaku Oteng, to the Black Stars Square on Friday, August 15, 2025, where an interdenominational state funeral was held for the last six victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash, received a surprise of his life when a soldier yelled at him.

The young man trailed behind Kwaku Oteng, lavishing him with appellations, praises and accolades in a loud voice that drew attention from onlookers.

“I will come to Kumasi and visit you. Asanteman is proud of you, may you live long for a thousand years no puncture. God bless you for what you are doing for Ghana. You are the destiny changer. You’ve made all Asantes proud, live long, Kwaku Oteng,” he kept shouting.

As Kwaku Oteng walked down the road to find a seat, the young man kept following and shouting still, but it was short-lived as Kwaku Oteng moved a few steps further.

A soldier who may have monitored the movement and actions of the man from afar, angrily shouted at the top of his voice, saying, “My friend, shut up! You are making noise,” to warn him, and he immediately turned away.

The shout created a scene momentarily as others turned to catch a glimpse of the young.

However, the young man who was engaging in praising-singing sycophancy or greetings for cash did not look back as he moved away from the place.
