Abdul Mumin scored a goal against Real Madrid

Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin found the back of the net in Rayo Vallecano’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Real Madrid in La Liga on December 14, 2024.

In the 35th minute, Mumin rose highest to head in a corner kick, giving Rayo Vallecano the lead against the Spanish giants in a match that saw both teams share six goals.

Though Mumin’s header put Vallecano in front, it wasn’t enough to secure all three points. Real Madrid fought back to level the score at 3-3, ensuring both teams are left with a point.

Mumin, who played the full 90 minutes, was key at both ends of the pitch.

He made 48 touches, 8 clearances, and 6 ball recoveries, while also winning 3 out of 4 ground duels and 2 out of 2 aerial duels.

Also, he completed 1 successful dribble and made a crucial interception to prevent Madrid from finding a winner.

Despite his primary role as a defender, Mumin has been a consistent goal threat for Rayo Vallecano, proving his importance to the team.

Looking ahead, the 24-year-old will be hoping to continue his strong form as he prepares to represent Ghana in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will resume in March 2025.
