A video has surfaced online, capturing preparations toward Daddy Lumba’s funeral underway at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The video, shared by Zionfelix on December 11, 2025, was captioned, “Preparations busily underway for Daddy Lumba’s funeral in Kumasi.”

In the less-than-one-minute clip posted on Instagram, several individuals were seen setting up canopies, a stage, and other equipment for the event.

The video also captured the team playing one of the late musician’s much-loved songs, “Yentie Obiaa.”

Meanwhile, some immediate family members of the late musician are expected to appear before the Accra High Court on December 12, 2025, for a final ruling after they filed an injunction concerning the release of the late singer’s body and control of his Memorial Foundation account.

    What is the injunction about?

Five individuals who describe themselves as maternal relatives of the late Daddy Lumba; Obaapanyin Afia Adomah Pakoso, Robert Gyamfi (also known as Wofa Yaw Poku Asuafua), Georgina Gyamfi, Ernestina Fosuh, and Nana Afia Kobi Pakoso, have filed a writ at the Accra High Court.

In the writ filed on December 3, the plaintiffs petitioned the court to direct Transitions Funeral Home to retain custody of Daddy Lumba’s body unless they give explicit approval for its release.

They are also seeking an order to freeze and regulate access to the Daddy Lumba Memorial Foundation account at CAL Bank, which was established to fund funeral and related expenses.
