Ghanaian highlife musician, Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, has vehemently denied allegations that he is a habitual weed smoker.
In an interview with Delay on February 3, 2025, Fameye denied the accusations, emphasising that his energetic stage craft is simply as a result of experience and passion for music.
He said those accusing him of doing drugs are rather, the ones partaking in such activities.
“Some people claim I take drugs, but when I think about it, I sometimes feel like the people accusing me are the ones who smoke and want to put it on me. We’re in a country where they can attach something to you, and if something happens, they will blame it on that. My fans should pray hard for me,” he said.
Fameye also clarified why he sometimes touches on drug-related themes in his music.
“I sing about drugs because I’m speaking for others, but that doesn’t mean I take them myself. So please, I don’t do drugs. If you hear someone saying that I do, I want my fans to stand up for me and defend me. Let them know I’m a talented guy who’s learned the craft and doing it because of my passion. We speak for people who don’t have the platform,” he added.
