The Government of Ghana has announced that a state funeral will be held for the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra. The event will take place under the auspices of President John Mahama.

According to a statement signed by the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the state funeral is a tribute to Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings’ lifelong work in promoting the rights of women and children in Ghana, as well as her contributions to national development.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Ridge Hospital in Accra. She was 76. Her death prompted a nationwide outpouring of grief, with tributes coming from political leaders, civil society organizations, and ordinary Ghanaians who remembered her as a tireless advocate for women’s empowerment and a pioneering figure in public service.
