Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town, has responded to Stonebwoy’s claims that the rapper’s camp reached out to his team over a possible collaboration and joint performance.
The development comes amid the ongoing back-and-forth between the two Ghanaian music stars, with Stonebwoy taking to X to address suggestions that he had been the one seeking to work with Sarkodie.
In a series of posts, Stonebwoy insisted that Sarkodie was rather the person who had been making calls regarding a possible collaboration between their camps.
“What could you possibly owe me. When you’re the one who calls me as you have clearly indicated,” Stonebwoy wrote.
Stonebwoy went on to recall an alleged incident surrounding his BHIM Festival at the stadium, claiming that Angel Town contacted his manager, Chief Stylzz, about Sarkodie’s team coming to the event.
According to Stonebwoy, he had no issue with the proposed appearance and maintained that working together on shows had never been a problem regardless of which camp initiated the communication.
“Doing shows together has never been a problem irrespective of who called. My last BHIMFEST at the stadium Angel called chief that y’all wanted to come through I didn’t disagree,” he stated.
However, Angel Town has now entered the conversation and challenged Stonebwoy’s account of what transpired.
The Sarkodie manager acknowledged that he would have no problem contacting Stonebwoy’s team whenever the need arose, but insisted that the particular incident referenced by Stonebwoy should be presented accurately.
“Only because my name has actually been mentioned now let me just do the needful and set the record straight… I’ll reach out any day regardless if need be, I don’t mind that at all but in this context just state facts… don’t lie on my name,” Angel said.
To back his response, Angel Town shared screenshots of a private WhatsApp conversation between himself and Chief Stylzz.
According to the screenshots he posted, the conversation appeared to show Stonebwoy’s team initiating discussions about possible dates and exploring whether the two artistes could work together.
The screenshots have therefore added another layer to the ongoing disagreement, with Angel Town seemingly seeking to challenge the impression that Sarkodie’s camp was the one that initiated the particular engagement.
The exchange between the two camps has attracted attention from fans, especially given the long-standing relationship and history between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy in Ghana’s music industry.
While both artistes have collaborated and shared stages on several occasions, their recent public exchanges have once again placed their relationship under intense scrutiny.
Angel Town’s decision to publicly release the screenshots suggests that he wants the record concerning the BHIM Festival engagement to be based on what was communicated between the two management teams rather than on competing accounts of the incident.
