The Ministry of Sports and Recreation is set to appoint Kumawood actor and football administrator, Samuel Yaw Dabo as grassroot football ambassador.
In a video circulating on social media, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams told Yaw Dabo about their intentions to honor him for his contributions to grassroot football.
The minister who was meeting the actor in his office at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation said this is part of broader efforts to strengthen the foundation of Ghana football by engaging credible personalities with direct connection to youth development.
Kofi Adams says Ghana should use 2026 World Cup to showcase hosting readiness
“What we are saying is that the Ministry has seen what you are doing and just like what we did for Abedi Pele by appointing him to the Inter-Ministerial Advisory Board on Sports, we will do the same for you.”
“We will make you our sports ambassador especially for grassroots football because that where we see what you do and we are happy with what you are doing,” sports minister Kofi Adams said.
As Grassroots Football Ambassador, Yaw Dabo will be expected to promote youth participation in football across the country, support talent identification initiatives, and advocate for improved development structures at the community level.
