The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for South Tongu, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, has called on the chiefs, elders, and residents of Sogakope to cooperate in safeguarding the future of Sogakope Senior High School (SOGASCO) by supporting plans to fence the school’s land.

She made the appeal during the 64th Anniversary Celebration of the school, where she expressed deep concern over the growing trend of land encroachment on the institution’s property. According to her, the encroachment by individuals and developers not only poses security risks to students and staff but also threatens the school’s potential for infrastructural expansion.

She noted that the South Tongu Municipal Assembly, in partnership with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Ghana Education Service, is already working to mobilize resources for the fencing project. She stressed that the initiative would ensure a safer learning environment while preserving the integrity of the school’s land.

The MCE also acknowledged the contributions of past and present leaders of SOGASCO, urging alumni and benevolent individuals to support the anniversary with investments that would secure the school’s legacy.

Sogakope Senior High School, established in 1961, has become one of the most prominent second-cycle institutions in the Volta Region. As it marks 64 years of shaping future leaders, the call for a permanent fence wall is seen as a crucial step toward securing the school’s next chapter.
