Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has questioned the long-standing perception that he and fellow musician Stonebwoy are rivals, revealing that the two live just minutes apart despite their history of public competition.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session, the SM boss disclosed that although Stonebwoy no longer lives in Ashaiman and he has also moved away from the ghetto, they remain neighbours, with their houses just about two minutes apart.
“If Stonebwoy were my enemy, I wouldn’t live in the same area with him. Stonebwoy doesn’t live at Ashaiman anymore, and I don’t live in the ghetto anymore. We are just two minutes away from each other,” Shatta Wale said.
The musician further revealed that he regularly passes by Stonebwoy’s house whenever he is going out.
“I pass in front of his house every time I go out, every single blessed day,” he stated.
According to Shatta Wale, the fact that they live so close to each other and go about their daily activities without avoiding one another should challenge the persistent narrative that they are enemies.
He argued that people who genuinely have serious disagreements would normally avoid crossing paths, particularly when they live in the same neighbourhood.
“Don’t come and sit here and say me and Stonebwoy are rivals. Under normal circumstances, when you’re not on talking terms with someone, you don’t even want to walk past their door because you’re angry,” he said.
Shatta Wale then questioned how the two musicians could realistically be considered rivals if they have chosen to live within such close proximity.
“If we were rivals, then we can’t live two minutes away from each other,” he added.
The comments have reignited conversations about the relationship between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, two of Ghana’s most prominent dancehall musicians who have frequently been portrayed as competitors.
