Pro Project Promotions, founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack, is heading back to the Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday 22nd October 2026 for A Night to Remember III – and this is shaping up to be the most powerful installment yet.
Since the debut event sold out Mayfair’s Grosvenor House ballroom in October 2025, Pro Project Promotions has become one of the most talked-about names in charity sport, raising over £201,500 for good causes across just two events and building a card of ex-professional footballers willing to relive the toughest ten weeks of their post-playing lives, all for causes bigger than themselves. Tickets are already on sale and tables are selling out quickly.
Graham Stack, former Arsenal Goalkeeper and Founder of Pro Project Promotions, said: “This is our biggest and most emotional line-up yet. Every one of these lads has a story worth telling – some have played at the very top of the game, others have had to rebuild their whole lives, and all of them are stepping back into a ring for people who need it more than they do. The timing could not be better. The documentaries chronicling A Night to Remember I & II are set to premiere on Amazon Prime, taking audiences behind the ropes and into the homes, gyms and personal battles of the footballers who have stepped into this ring so far. For anyone who has followed the series, or is discovering it for the first time, October’s event is the chance to see the next chapter live, ringside, in black tie, with all the drama, entertainment and charity impact that has defined every Pro Project Promotions night to date.
Guests can expect the full Pro Project Promotions experience: a red carpet arrival, champagne reception, seven hard-fought three-round contests between former professional footballers, and an after-fight party with some of the biggest names across football and boxing in the room. It is, as ever, black tie, sold-out before doors even open, and for one night only.
The Line-Up
Fourteen ex-professional footballers have been confirmed for the card, spanning the Premier League, the Football League, and beyond. Match-ups will follow in the coming weeks, but between them the fighters carry some of the most compelling stories the series has told yet – from Wembley finals and top-flight football to very public falls from grace, and the long road back to the purpose that boxing has given them.
Nile Ranger – Striker. Newcastle United, Swindon Town, Blackpool, Southend United
A Newcastle United academy graduate who made more than 50 appearances for his boyhood club, Ranger’s career was derailed by a series of off-field controversies that culminated in a prison sentence for online banking fraud. Released early for good behaviour, he now steps into the ring as part of his continuing journey to rebuild both his career and his reputation.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas – Forward. Arsenal, Ipswich Town, Bristol City, QPR, Gillingham, Aberdeen
Tipped as a future Arsenal star, Emmanuel-Thomas captained the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2009 before spells across the EFL and a brief stint in Thailand. In 2023 he was jailed for four years after admitting his part in a £600,000 cannabis smuggling plot, serving ten months before returning to non-league football. His fight in A Night to Remember III is billed as one of the series’ most powerful redemption stories – a second chance, live in the ring.
Gary Madine – Striker. Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City, Blackpool
A prolific lower-league striker who scored more than 50 goals across spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton and helped Blackpool to promotion in 2021, Madine also served time in prison earlier in his career following a nightclub assault. He went on to rebuild a career that lasted more than a decade beyond that low point, retiring in 2025 – a story of resilience the Grosvenor crowd will be firmly behind.
Sebastien Bassong – Centre-back. Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Cameroon international
A £10m Tottenham signing who scored the winning goal on his debut against Liverpool, Bassong was Newcastle’s Player of the Year in his breakthrough season and later picked up the same honour at Norwich City. He won 40+ caps for Cameroon and played at the 2010 World Cup, making him one of the most decorated names ever to step into a Pro Project Promotions ring.
Matthew Briggs – Defender. Fulham
Briggs made history at 16 years and 68 days old as the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League, a Guinness World Record he held for over a decade after his Fulham debut in 2007. Loan spells followed at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Derby, Peterborough, Watford and Bristol City, but life after being released by Fulham in 2014 was a different fight altogether – Briggs has spoken candidly about the toll the game took on his mental health, and about working on a construction site after football ended for him. Armand Traore – Left-back. Arsenal, QPR, Nottingham Forest, Senegal international
A Monaco academy product who broke through at Arsenal and started the 2007 League Cup final before a five-year stint at QPR, Traore went on to represent Senegal at senior international level. One of the most technically accomplished names on the card.
Harlee Dean – Centre-back. Brentford, Birmingham City, Reading, Morecambe
A boyhood Brentford fan who became a two-time Player of the Year and club captain there before a £2.2m move to Birmingham City, Dean has made close to 400 career appearances as a combative, uncompromising centre-back.
Simon Cox – Striker. West Bromwich Albion, Reading, Swindon Town, Republic of Ireland international
A prolific goalscorer who hit 43 league goals in two seasons at Swindon before earning a move to West Brom, Cox went on to represent the Republic of Ireland at senior level and played professionally in Australia before retiring in 2021.
Lee Cook – Winger. Watford, QPR, Fulham
A fan favourite at boyhood club QPR, where he won Young Player, Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Year, Cook is fondly remembered for handing his £250,000 Fulham signing-on fee back to QPR as a parting gift when he left in 2007 – a gesture that still defines his reputation among Rangers fans today.
Leroy Lita – Forward. Bristol City, Reading, Middlesbrough, Swansea City, England U21
Born in Kinshasa, DR Congo, and raised through the Chelsea academy, Lita enjoyed a 23-year senior career, including a Premier League season with Reading and nine England U21 caps. A veteran of A Night to Remember I, he now also works in coaching and returns to the ring for round two.
Anthony Gardner – Centre-back. Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City, Crystal Palace, England
A £1m signing for Tottenham from Port Vale as a teenager, Gardner made 142 appearances across eight years at White Hart Lane and won a senior England cap in 2004. Another returning fighter from A Night to Remember I, he’s back to defend his unbeaten record in the ring.
David Norris – Midfielder. Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town, Blackpool
A boyhood favourite at Plymouth Argyle, where he was named Player of the Season in 2005-06, Norris went on to make more than 400 Football League appearances across a 27-year playing career before retiring at Blackpool.
Martin Woods – Midfielder. Sunderland, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers, Ross County
A Scottish midfielder who tasted Premier League football with Sunderland before becoming a cult hero at Rotherham and helping Doncaster Rovers to Championship promotion in 2008, Woods later won the Scottish League Cup with Ross County in 2016.
Jamie Sendles-White – Centre-back. QPR, Hamilton Academical, Swindon Town, Leyton Orient
A former Northern Ireland youth international who came through the QPR academy, Sendles-White has built a long career across the EFL, Scottish football and the National League, most recently in non-league football – a journeyman’s story of graft and longevity.
