Fans of Shatta Wale have gathered in large numbers outside the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on August 21, 2025, to demand the release of their boss.

Shatta Wale was detained by EOCO after appearing at the agency’s office with his lawyer, Cephas Biyu.

His detention is linked to an ongoing investigation into his yellow Lamborghini Urus, which is purportedly connected to fraud and was previously seized by EOCO in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Authorities have alleged that the vehicle may have been stolen and connected to an international fraud scheme.

However, in videos circulating on social media following Shatta Wale’s recent detention at EOCO, members of the Shatta Movement (SM) family were seen massing up at the premises to protest.

Many rode motorbikes and were dressed in red and black, with red bands around their heads and wrists.

Some fans carried sticks, swords, and placards bearing messages such as “Please have mercy on Shatta Wale.” Others broke into chants and sang along to the musician’s songs.

In a video shared by GhanaWeb’s reporter on the grounds, tensions flared as some fans engaged in verbal exchanges with police officers who had been deployed to maintain order at the EOCO offices.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale’s management has assured his fans that the artiste is cooperating fully with investigators.
