During the Civil Society Organisations (CSO) engagement with President Mahama on October 3, 2025, the meeting had a brief pause for a musical interlude, but it wasn’t an ordinary performance; it was an official anti-galamsey song composed by gospel artiste Nacee.
The new song entitled “Stop Galamsey Now,” and its accompanying music video were officially premiered publicly at the engagement.
The song serves as a clarion call against illegal mining, spotlighting its devastating impact on rivers, forests, and the health of citizens.
In the video, viewers saw images of poisoned waters and scarred forests, a visual testimony to the environmental harm caused by galamsey.
The soulful song contained the chorus “Stop galamsey now, save Mother Ghana,” and “Let’s stop galamsey now, let’s save our motherland Ghana.”
Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb on October 4, 2025, Nacee highlighted the song not just as art, but as an advocacy to every Ghanaian.
“When we rise together, change happens. This campaign is for every Ghanaian who believes in a cleaner, brighter, and safer tomorrow,” he wrote.
Meanwhile Nacee’s “Stop Galamsey Now” song has been viewed as the government’s official anti-galamsey anthem.

Thank you @naceemusic for using your music to create awareness of the ecocide happening in Ghana. We can all do something to stop #galamsey. Each of us can do something to stop this ecocide. Refusing to act is not neutrality; it is complicity. #StopGalamsey #StopGalamseyNow pic.twitter.com/Z2R9dbJh9o
