The Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, has refused to be drawn into public discussions over the recent seizure of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale’s 2019 Lamborghini Urus.

Speaking at the Jubilee House during a wreath-laying ceremony in honour of the victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash, Mr Archer was approached by a journalist for clarification on the matter.

Shatta Wale had earlier taken to social media on August 5 to express his frustration over EOCO’s confiscation of his luxury vehicle, a move that has since generated significant public interest.

However, Mr Archer declined to address the controversy, stressing that the focus should remain on the nation’s grief.

“Oh, for Shatta Wale, we are grieving, so let us finish with that,” he said, referencing the solemn occasion being observed for the eight people who lost their lives in the crash, including Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and MP Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

EOCO has yet to issue an official statement regarding the reasons behind the seizure of Shatta Wale’s vehicle.
