Rasmus Hojlund has made a brutally honest admission amid his dismal form for Man United this season.

The striker has only managed one goal in the last four months and just eight in all competitions in 2024-25.

But perhaps most worryingly, Hojlund has fired just 21 shots in the Premier League this season; 133 players have tested their luck in front of goal as many or more times than the Dane.

He told Premier League Productions: ‘It’s short-term, in terms of like we know what this football club means, and the DNA is so sewn into the shirt and we know what it means.

‘I wouldn’t have signed here if I didn’t know that. I wouldn’t have taken the number nine shirt in the summer if I didn’t think I wanted to have that sort of pressure.

Rasmus Hojlund has opened up on his struggles in front of goal for Man United this season

‘I think, with it not being the best season, I’ve also struggled with it at some point. But again, it’s about finding your way and keep doing the things that got you here, but also working on the things you think you should improve, and that’s what I’m always trying to do.

Hojlund also revealed how passionate Ruben Amorim is about his job. The striker added: ‘He is very passionate and he wants to improve everybody. You can see that he has really got the heart for wanting to improve and be better.

‘You can see that every day. He’s very passionate. He wants to bring this club back where it belongs, and I think that is his main quality, if you can say that. He just wants to be better and just be the best version of him being a manager.’
