The studio behind the Rants, Bants and Confessions podcast has issued a press release in support of their team member, Gisela, who has recently faced harsh online criticism for her views on gender roles.

Gisela made the trends following the release of the latest episode of the podcast where she made comments about her partner and his role in their relationship.

Her comments, however, were met with backlash on social media with many trolling her and her partner, especially over his body size.

A statement released by Glitch Africa Studios has condemned the ‘harassment and bullying’ faced by Gisela in the wake of the podcast.

The statement highlighted the negative impact of using slurs and enforcing societal stereotypes and urged the public to remember that “behind every comment is a real person with feelings.”

It added that “While we encourage open discussion and differing opinions, we do not condone harassment and bullying in any form. Using Slurs and enforcing societal stereotypes only takes our society backwards.

“Let’s remind ourselves that behind every comment and tweet is a real person with feelings. We stand by Gisela and all individuals facing bullying online.”
