Gospel musician and preacher, Sonnie Badu, has urged his followers to resist the pressures of social media and live within their means.
In a video posted on his social media platforms, the renowned Ghanaian pastor has addressed the growing trend of individuals being pressured to live up to what they see on social media.
He advised, “Learn to cut the coat according to your size. Learn to live within your means. I know social media has so much pressure that you feel you’ve got to live up to certain expectations. But hear me.”
According to him, most of the lifestyles being portrayed online may be gotten from unknown sources or even borrowed.
“The people you’re watching, perhaps you don’t know where they are getting this stuff from. Some of them are borrowing. Others are literally using their last dime to impress people.”
He therefore urged people to be content with what they have and to prioritise peace of mind over online validation.
“Go to bed, sleep, rest. Cut the coat according to your size and be content with whatever you have. Thank me later,” he said.
