A member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has expressed confidence in head coach Otto Addo’s ability to lead the Black Stars toward qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Despite the team’s current position at the top of Group I in the World Cup qualifiers with nine points, the same as Comoros, Addo’s tenure has been marred by a disappointing failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

But Sarfo remains a believer in the former Dortmund assistant coach, saying will qualify Ghana for a second World Cup after the 2022 Qatar success.

“Otto Addo is doing two things. The World Cup qualifiers that we just spoke about his team is sitting in a good position. He is on the verge of qualifying but has failed in the AFCON qualification,” Sarfo told Accra-based Asempa FM.

“What shows that he is not doing a good job?”

Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar in their next two World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
