A multi-vehicular accident at Nananom Junction on the Accra-Cape Coast Highway has resulted in eight casualties, with a single survivor who was rescued by a team from the Mankessim Fire Station.

The tragic collision which happened on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, involved a Sprinter Minibus, a Hyundai Hi Mini Cargo, and a Toyota Hiace.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in a post on their official Facebook page, reported their swift response to the accident scene.

“Upon arriving at 10:50 hours, the crew found one victim trapped in a mangled vehicle and successfully extricated him at 11:10 hours,” the GNFS stated.

They added, “Eight other casualties had already been transported to the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital in Mankessim before the crew’s arrival.

“The accident resulted in significant damage to the front sections of the vehicles involved, and several cartons of fresh fish were lost.”
