Offset and Cardi B’s divorce proceedings have taken another turn as the Bad and Boujee rapper is seeking spousal support from his estranged wife.
Per TMZ, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, requested the spousal support from Cardi, 32, in an amended divorce he filed earlier this month. Offset in the filing, however, did not include the exact amount he is seeking.
The other requests largely remain the same, and they include Offset, 33, maintaining his stance on having joint custody of their three children and asking for the kid’s minors’ primary residence to be Cardi’s abode.
Prior to this recent update, there had been no report regarding the estranged couple’s divorce proceedings for a while. As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Cardi, born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, filed for divorce from Offset in 2024. The pair became romantically involved in 2017 before they got engaged and married secretly that same year.
A source told The Associated Press that Cardi’s divorce filing was “not based on any one particular incident” as it had “been a long time coming and is amicable.” Sources also told TMZ that the pair had been “disconnected from each other” for a very long while.
After filing for divorce, the I Like It rapper initially clapped back at critics who suggested Offset wasn’t in their kids’ lives and he was a deadbeat dad. But their relationship later turned sour as they have traded jabs on social media.
Cardi filed her first divorce in September 2020 over allegations of Offset cheating on her. The couple later patched things up and called off their divorce. It, however, appears there’s no chance of a reconciliation this time around.
In a March 29 conversation on X Spaces, Cardi accused Offset of threatening her and leaking a video of them having sex after she sent Melanie Jayda (Offset’s rumored girlfriend) messages she had received from her estranged husband, E! News reported
“This guy upset because I sent his girlfriend messages of him begging me—begging me saying he’s gonna take away his life, begging me saying he’s gonna take away my life,” Cardi claimed at the time. “All that s–t, he was mad.”
She added: “This man sent text messages to somebody that I was dealing with of me and him having sex. That’s the type of s–t I’ve been dealing with.”
