    NPP eulogises Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo

    The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed profound sadness over the passing of the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group of Companies, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo who passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, after a short illness.

    In a statement issued by the party on September 15, 2025, it described the late Apostle, affectionately known as the “Star of Africa,” as more than a philanthropist praising his ingenuity and contributions to Ghana.

    “The Late Apostle Kwadwo Safo, founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, was more than a consummate philanthropist and a religious leader. He embodied local ingenuity, innovation and the can-do spirit of the African.

    “He established himself as a generational inventor, agriculturist and industrialist particularly with his exploits as the founder of the KOSA network of Companies and the Kantanka Group of Companies including Kantanka Automobile, a wholly Ghanaian-owned automotive company and one of Africa’s leading technology conglomerates,” it noted.

    It also elaborated on Apostle Safo’s support for the party particularly in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, where his daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, served three terms as Member of Parliament.

    “The late Apostle was a great pillar of support for the NPP particularly in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency,” the statement noted.

    The party also extended its condolences to the bereaved family.

    “The NPP is deeply saddened by his passing and extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the Kristo Asafo Mission. The Party also commiserates with the rest of the nation for the painful loss of this extraordinary illustrious citizen,” it added.

    His demise was officially announced by the family on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
