Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has expressed optimism about the Black Stars’ readiness ahead of their international friendlies, citing strong preparations in Vienna.

Speaking after training, Ayew highlighted the team’s progress across all areas, praising their tactical, technical and physical sharpness. “We have prepared really well… what I’ve seen is positive,” he noted, adding that the squad is fully focused on securing a good result in their opening game.

The Leicester City forward stressed the importance of taking matches one step at a time, with Ghana set to face Austria before a second high-profile clash against Germany. He maintained that attention remains firmly on the immediate task.

Ghana head into the fixtures boosted by the form of Antoine Semenyo, while experienced players such as Thomas Partey and Alexander Djiku have rejoined the squad.

The team also features four uncapped players, adding fresh energy to the squad. With their last meeting against Austria ending in a 1-1 draw in 2007, both sides are expected to approach the game with intensity as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
