Many years after going vegan, celebrated Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has taken to social media to share stories about his journey and some of his regrets.

In a post shared on Instagram on January 7, 2026, the artiste stated that he regrets not becoming a vegetarian earlier in life.

Addressing stereotypes surrounding vegetarians, Okyeame Kwame stated that his health has significantly improved since adopting a vegan lifestyle.

According to him, he no longer feels the need to constantly check his blood pressure because he believes he is in good condition.

“Today marks exactly five years since I became vegan, and I have not lost my brain cells. I mean, I have not starved myself. I feel strong. My cholesterol is in check.

“I’ve thrown away my blood pressure machine. I’ve developed a bit more muscle, gained more weight, and lowered my carbon footprint. The only regret I have about going vegan is that I didn’t start earlier. Damn!” he said.

The musician further noted that he wished he had adopted a vegan lifestyle earlier so his children would not have eaten meat.

“I wish I had started being vegan before I had my children, so they could have enjoyed their lives without ever contributing to the unnecessary exploitation and suffering of animals. Go vegan!” he added.
