Stonebwoy said his song was not a jab at Shatta Wale

Ghanaian Dancehall star, Stonebwoy, has denied claims that his song, “Deeper,” contains a jab aimed at rival dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, insisting his lyrics were part of a prayer and not a diss.

Following the release of his ‘The Torcher’ EP on September 9, social media was abuzz after netizens pointed out that some lyrics from the song were a reference to Shatta Wale‘s troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Office over a Lamborghini.

However, in an interview making waves on social media, Stonebwoy, responding to the speculations, explained that the EP had been submitted to digital platforms as early as August 8, nearly a month before its official September 9 release.

“I am not even required to explain myself to anyone. But those who don’t believe it wasn’t a jab will not even believe the truth.

“Before the EP got released, we had to submit it at least 4 weeks before the official date so that the various platforms could have it in their systems. The EP was already submitted on August 8, weeks before its release on September 9,” he stated.

He further clarified that the lyrics in question were not a divine prediction or forecast but were simply a way of showing gratitude to God.

“I didn’t foresee anyone’s downfall; the lyrics were part of a prayer to God. I was just thanking God for his guidance through it all,” he said.
