Sam George appears to have been contradicted by DStv again Sam George appears to have been contradicted by DStv again

MultiChoice Ghana Limited, managers of DStv, has once again contradicted the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, regarding the prices of its packages.

Sam George had announced that DStv subscribers in Ghana would enjoy between 33% and 50% more value on their subscriptions starting Wednesday, October 1, 2025, following an agreement between the Ministry and MultiChoice Africa.

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, September 29, 2025, he stated that MultiChoice Africa had committed to rolling out an unprecedented value offer in Ghana, providing subscribers with between 33% and 50% more value depending on the package they use.

“MultiChoice Africa has committed to an unprecedented increase in value offer only in Ghana, which will result in Ghanaian DStv subscribers getting more services for less. Depending on the DStv package or bouquet you use, subscribers will get between 33% to 50% more value,” he remarked.

MultiChoice shoots down Sam George’s claim of DStv price slash

Following the minister’s announcement, a statement attributed to MultiChoice, widely reported by several media outlets, contradicted Sam George’s claims about enhanced DStv packages.

According to posts circulating on social media, MultiChoice said the enhanced packages are part of a promotion scheduled to end in December 2025.

“New DStv package upgrades announced by Sam George are a promotion scheduled to end in December 2025… – MultiChoice Africa,” the company shared on Wednesday.

On September 5, 2025, MultiChoice had denied agreeing to a price reduction in DStv services after Sam George announced that a deal had been reached to that effect.
