Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has expressed strong confidence ahead of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Togo.

Ghana will face Togo at the Stade de Kegue at 16:00 GMT (4:00pm), with the Maidens aiming to take a big step towards qualification.

Speaking before the game, Adarkwa revealed that preparations have gone smoothly, with the team spending several weeks in camp fine-tuning for the crucial encounter.

“Concerning our preparation, everything is going on well. We’ve been there for almost one month, two weeks. Things are going very, very well. So we are okay with everything,” he said.

The coach also emphasized the team’s determination to maintain Ghana’s strong tradition at the youth level, describing his side as highly motivated heading into the fixture.

“We are coming to the game like wounded lions. Because Maidens, our legacy all the time is to qualify to the World Cup. So we want to follow that footstep. We are going to win the match and qualify to the next stage.”

The enterprising gaffer further highlighted the positive atmosphere within the camp, insisting both players and technical staff are focused on achieving their goal.

“We are happy here in terms of everything. Our technical staff are happy too. So we can’t wait to get into the World Cup. We are going to take every match seriously and get there.”

The return leg is scheduled for April 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Ghana will look to complete the job in front of their home fans.
