Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr Beautiful, has revealed that he would not rule out a future bid for the presidency, saying he is ready to step into frontline politics when the opportunity and conditions are right.

The actor, who is known for his open support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), spoke about his political ambitions during a recent appearance on Hitz FM. In the interview, he reflected on the possibility of moving beyond political advocacy to actively contest for leadership.

According to Mr Beautiful, the thought of leading the country is not just a passing idea. He said it is an ambition he has seriously considered and one he is willing to pursue through the proper political process.

“Yes, I have an interest in occupying a political position. I want to become the next president. Who wouldn’t want to be in that position? I want to become means it’s a process. I will go through a certain process to become,” he said.

While the presidency remains his ultimate goal, the actor indicated that his first step into elective politics could begin with a parliamentary seat if the circumstances align.

He explained that such a move would depend largely on the support of his constituents as well as the resources needed to run a campaign.

“I can start with being MP if I have the resources and my constituency thinks that I can serve them better, I will go for it,” he shared.

Mr Beautiful also made it clear that he does not believe in waiting endlessly for what some people call the “right time” before chasing their ambitions.

“I’m not the kind of person who would think it’s not their time. It’s my time and I will always dream big. You have to dream big and start now,” Mr Beautiful further stated.
