Lydia Naa Deide Tagoe, mother of the late Ghanaian hiplife legend, Castro, has passed away.

Her death was confirmed by her son and brother to the late Castro, McBaby Nana Kwame Martin, in an emotional Facebook post in which he described his mother as his “best friend” and “angel on earth.”

In the post made on October 23, 2025, Martin shared an old picture of him and his mother, with the caption, “I am broken and short of words, but God knows best. I lost my best friend and my angel on earth this morning. Rest on, Mommy, forever in my heart… Wherever you are, may God keep you safe.”

Meanwhile, the cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Madam Tagoe’s death comes four years after her son, Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as ‘Castro Under Fire’, was officially declared dead in 2021.

The declaration came seven years after the musician disappeared with his friend, Janet Bandu, during a jet ski trip on the Ada Estuary in July 2014.

In the years following Castro’s disappearance, Madam Tagoe remained resilient, often expressing her belief that her son was still alive and that she could still feel his presence around her.
