Asante Kotoko SC have received a morale-boosting visit from a high-powered delegation from Manhyia Palace ahead of Sunday’s Super Clash against archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC in Kumasi.
The Porcupine Warriors confirmed on Thursday, February 12, that the delegation was led by Manhyia Palace Chief of Staff Mr. Kofi Badu and included Offinsomanhene Nana Dwamena Akenten II and Bantamahene Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, among other traditional leaders. The visit was aimed at inspiring the players before one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season.
Kotoko head into the clash on the back of a difficult week, having suffered a 3-1 league defeat to Heart of Lions FC before crashing out of the FA Cup following a 4-2 penalty shootout loss to Aduana Stars FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The cup exit also led to the resignation of head coach Karim Zito, leaving the team seeking a swift response. Kickoff for Sunday’s showdown is scheduled for 5:00 pm GMT.
