Efasha Kamarudin (10-1-1, 6 KOs) successfully captured the vacant WBC Female Asia Continental 108lb title when she won a unanimous decision over former WBC world title challenger Sothita Sitthichai (13-5, 4KOs) on March 29 at Orchard Plaza in Singapore.
Efasha controlled the fight completely and landed several clear punches to the Thai boxer’s face. The Thai boxer tried to weaken the Singaporean with bodyshots, but they were not very effective. After 8 rounds, three judges awarded the victory to the Singaporean fighter by a unanimous decision of 80-72.
This event also featured the inaugural WBC amateur competition in Singapore, with the following results:
WBC amateur Singapore – 55kg final, Joseph Wong won a 30-26, 30-27, 29-27 over Quyen Ng.
WBC amateur Singapore – 67kg final, Ayaan Kanga won a 30-25, 30-25, 30-25 over Mohd Sihol.
WBC amateur Singapore – 75kg final, Isaac Ng won a 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 over Kamal Ruzaman.
