Premier League giants, Liverpool are repeatedly considering a move for Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in the January 2026 transfer window.

The reigning Premier League champions believe that the winger’s prowess in finishing and controlling the ball in tight spaces is an attribute that will strengthen their squad.

Reports suggest that Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah’s recent form has dipped, prompting the club to consider finding a suitable competitor to challenge him.

With the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) approaching, Salah will be away with his national team.

Signing Semenyo, who will be available during that time because of Ghana’s ability to qualify for the AFCON, would help Liverpool stay competitive in all competitions.

The Ghanaian is in top form for his club, having scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 matches in the 2025/26 season, which has already linked him to several big clubs in Europe.

Additionally, Richard Hughes, who signed Semenyo for Bournemouth during his time as Sporting Director at the club, now works with the Reds.

Hughes could play a significant role in Liverpool landing the Ghana international in January.

Reports indicate that Bournemouth value Semenyo at around €75 million; however, a respectable offer could convince the club to reconsider their stance.
