Lionesses goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has given fans a glimpse into her thrill-seeking summer.
The 25-year-old Chelsea star has been making the most of a rare break after appearing at three major tournaments in the last four years, travelling to destinations including Zanzibar and Barcelona in recent weeks.
The back-to-back European champion kicked off her holidays in style with a visit to Wimbledon, where she watched Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka in action.
A couple of weeks later, Hampton swapped Centre Court for the crystal-clear waters of Zanzibar.
The Chelsea goalkeeper shared a series of snapshots from the Tanzanian island, including one of her swimming alongside turtles and another showing her cheering on England‘s men at the World Cup while sporting a Three Lions shirt.
Hampton, who was born in Birmingham, returned home to receive an honorary doctorate in sports science from the University of Wolverhampton in recognition of her ‘exceptional achievements in football and her inspirational impact on young people across the region and beyond’.

Hampton also shared pictures from Barcelona, including visits to the iconic La Sagrada Familia and a local fruit and cheese market, as well as donning the jersey of her former side, Villarreal, in a club shop.
The excitement didn’t end there, with Hampton also sharing footage of herself enjoying a concert by country music star Luke Combs from a box at Wembley Stadium, dressed in customary cowboy boots and a hat.
In the midst of all this, Hampton also signed a new two-year contract with Chelsea, putting an end to a protracted saga which had dragged through the summer.
Hampton, who signed for Chelsea from Villa in 2023, became the club’s No 1 in the 2024-25 season, playing a vital role in Chelsea’s unbeaten treble-winning season.
She usurped Mary Earps to become Sarina Wiegman’s first-choice goalkeeper for the national team ahead of last summer’s Euros, and was decisive as the Lionesses lifted their second consecutive title in Switzerland.
Hampton returns to Chelsea hoping that last season’s underwhelming campaign, in which the Blues’ only trophy was the Women’s League Cup, proves to be an exception.
The record eight-time WSL winners were denied a historic sixth consecutive title by Manchester City, coming third in the top-flight, while they were also knocked out of the Champions League by rivals Arsenal in the quarter-final.
Hampton, who won the Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper at the Ballon d’Or awards last year, said upon signing her contract that she was proud to extend her stay at her ‘dream club’.
She added: ‘I am going to do everything I can to help Chelsea get back to being as successful as we have been in the past.’

Chelsea Women returned last week from their pre-season tour. They produced two dominant displays, beating an Auckland FC invitational side 7-0 before backing it up with another 3-0 win against the A-Leagues All Stars Women in Sydney.
Hampton, who was a half-time substitute in the first match in New Zealand, got another 45 minutes under her belt in Australia.
The WSL kicks off in just over two weeks’ time with London City Lionesses taking on Manchester United on Friday, September 4, before Chelsea welcome Hampton’s former side Villa to Stamford Bridge the next day.
Chelsea are set to play all of their WSL games at the Bridge next season, and there is set to be an interesting sub-plot with the return of Earps to the English top-flight. Chelsea will face Earps’ London City Lionesses on December 13.
