A GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy’s parents, Mike and Paula Musgrove, has raised over $800,000 as of Monday morning.
The couple, who are from Connecticut, have been in the Massachusetts courtroom each day supporting their daughter.
‘They have spent years absorbing the travel, lodging, and living costs required to remain close to their daughter, drawing down savings they spent a lifetime building,’ the fundraiser said.
‘They have not walked away from their daughter, and they have never been unclear about why: they love her.’
According to the page organizer, the fundraiser is intended to help the couple with their financial woes, not their daughter’s legal defense.
The fundraiser has a $2 million goal, and states that Paula is retired and Mike is a photographer.
‘The purpose of this fund is to help Mike and Paula rebuild the financial stability they have sacrificed over these past three years,’ the page said.
‘The case will eventually reach its conclusion. Whatever that outcome is, Mike and Paula will still have to pick up the pieces of the lives they have put on hold to be there for their daughter.’
The fundraiser added that it was created with the Musgrove’s’ consent and Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, is aware of it.
