Ghanaian highlife artiste, Kwabena Kwabena, has raised serious concerns about what he perceives as systemic exclusion within the country’s gospel music industry.

Known in private life as George Kwabena Adu, the ‘Tokro’ singer alleged that key players in the gospel scene are deliberately sidelining his latest gospel project, ‘God of Restoration’.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Kwabena Kwabena didn’t hold back in expressing his frustration over the cold reception his gospel EP has received. He believes his identity as a “secular” musician is the root of the discrimination.

“It looks as if our gospel fraternity has an issue with a supposed ‘secular’ artiste producing a gospel tune. Is God for you only? I don’t get it,” he questioned.

Kwabena Kwabena revealed that he has been tipped off about an intentional effort to ignore his gospel work.

“I know from a very reliable source there’s been a purported agenda in the gospel fraternity not to push this EP,” he said.

Despite the pushback, Kwabena Kwabena emphasized that God of Restoration was born from personal gratitude, not industry expectations.

“I did it to say thank you to the big man up there who has given me the talent to feed my family and sustain my career,” he shared.

Addressing those he believes are behind the resistance, he made it clear that divine purpose, not public endorsement, remains his motivation.

“If you’ve decided not to push a gospel project by a secular artiste, that’s your problem. It’s God who will promote what is His,” Kwabena Kwabena stated.
