Jamaican dancehall musician, Kranium, has explained why he threw away an award he recently won at the just-ended Caribbean Music Awards.

In a video shared online, Kranium stated that he discarded the award due to what he described as disrespect from the organisers of the scheme.

According to him, the organisers contacted him a week after the event to inform him that they had made a mistake in presenting the award to him.

“I have never been disrespected in my whole life by anybody like what the Caribbean Music Awards did to me, and I will never forgive you because you called on to perform on the show. I didn’t ask for any award. You asked me to perform, and I agreed to show love because it was hosted in New York… I didn’t even charge you money for my performance,” he said.

Kranium added that he was called a week after the event by the organisers, who claimed to have given him the wrong category, and he deserved to win another category that never existed.

“After my performance and speech during the awards ceremony, they only called me a week after that; they made a mistake giving me the award. I wasn’t even angry until they told me that I wasn’t supposed to win Caribbean Dancehall R&B Artiste of the Year, but I was supposed to win Caribbean R&B Song of the Year, but that wasn’t even in the category,” he added.

The “Nobody Has To Know” singer further detailed that the organisers claimed singer Dexta Daps deserved that category, adding that he will not forgive the organisers for the disrespect.

“That wasn’t even a category. Why do you have to disrespect me… All I do in this business is to mind my own business, and I never violate… I will never forgive you for that. I know how to make hits because God gave me a talent,” he stated.
