The Director of Strategy, Research, and Communication at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Sammy Darko, has provided details following the appearance of private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu at the OSP.

In an update on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, he disclosed that Kpebu honored another invitation on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, after failing to appear on Friday, November 21, 2025, even though he had been informed through his contacts.

Darko said that upon appearing at the OSP on Tuesday, Kpebu declined to answer questions put to him regarding his allegations of corruption against the office.

He added that Kpebu became agitated, causing the questioning to be halted.

“… Another invitation was then issued for Tuesday, 25 November 2025, delivered directly to his office, as was done with the first invitation. When he appeared before the team yesterday, they began by asking questions relating to his specific allegations of corruption.

“He stated that he would not answer any questions, explaining that he was still preparing his materials and preferred to present them before the OSP Board. As the team proceeded with their questions, he became agitated, insisting he will not answer any questions, so they stopped,” he said on Facebook.

Darko also noted that a new date will be scheduled for Kpebu to appear before the prosecutorial body, as he was discharged.

Darko also refuted claims earlier made by Kpebu in a media interview that he was questioned by the officers of the OSP about his decision to present himself with two lawyers.

He explained that no officer did what Kpebu claimed; rather, it was the front desk personnel who inquired about the matter, which he said was in line with the institution’s protocols.

“As is standard protocol, when he arrived on the first day, the receptionist asked how many people would be accompanying him. This is routine for all visitors and not an attempt to restrict the number of lawyers he could bring.

“However, after his visit, he was quoted by Media General as saying that OSP officers questioned why he had arrived with two lawyers and that he could even have brought fifteen. No OSP officer or agent made such a statement; only the front desk requested the information strictly for documentation purposes,” he explained.
